The chapter and verse of NÖ Endeavour is simply the urge to ride a bike.
Dilating that edict, our modus vivendi is of an independent freewheeling frisson. Add to the mix an esprit de corps borne out of camaraderie and a bipartisan synchronicity, plus a small glass of Amaretto, and you will indeed go a long way.
We're about the links in the chain, as well as the places it will take you. We believe no journey exists, unless it is shared. And the simple pleasure of 'reading' a paper map can ultimately bestow more epic theater and dramalogue than the greatest novel.
Here at NÖ we embrace the quid pro quo that cycling affords - do more than just ride, and rewards await. Which more often than not exists on a micro, as well as macro, level. These simple things. Which in itself best represents the NÖ ethos. On a journey from A to B, the pot of gold may equally lie at C, or some place several kilometres shy of A. You just have to look. Which is not some existentialist folderol. It merely suggests 'continual state of journey'. Much sideways looking. Much freewheeling too. A path to chance events. The Abstract Randonneur.
As we have come to understand, on our rides into other places, if one can open up to the road, almost ignore the destination, you will in time learn much about many things. You will have probably forgotten all these things on your return, but that's not the point. One can internally and externally travel. Which is nice. Above all, freewheeling should be seen as a merger of two essential constituents - free and wheel. Add a frisson or two, and you're on the right track. Lastly, NÖ Endeavour encompasses all those who wish to join in.
So who are we? As was succinctly declared over a fine Collioure vintage "We're more than the sum of our parts."
